RAFTING TRIP FOR LMPC
The last Saturday in July (7/31/2010), we will take a group up to Nantahala to get cool and have fun and good fellowship.
We will be going with Ryan McCrary, who grew up in our church, and whom we
support through our mission dollars.
Ryan is an eagle scout (troop 411) and has started his own Christian ministry
called G.O.A.T. Ministries (Great Outdoor Adventure Trips).
He started this ministry after visiting Try Nichols in the Northwest corner
(Washington state) who was involved in a similar ministry there that we
supported.
Ryan is taking time out to take those who wish to go.
We will be meeting at 7:30 A.M. at the gym and leaving about 8:00 A.M. and returning about 7:00 P.M.
We'll be going for about a four hour trip on the Nantahala gorge- perhaps the
best whitewater spots for groups in the southeast.
It is about 3 to 3.5 hours up and back. But it surly beats cutting the
grass or just watching the tube.
The water will be about 50 degrees! So be prepared to get cool!
The cost is $30/person and is a first come, first served basis. Anyone may come- preferably 10 yrs and above. Cost includes lunch- but bring extra money for snacks and supper.

Take 26 toward Spartanburg- go towards Asheville;
Take I-40 W towards Knoxville
Take exit 27 (US 74) and continue straight until it becomes US 19 (go about 60
miles- Go eight miles past Bryson City and continue on US 74/19)
(You'll be riding beside the Nantahala at this
point- go nine miles past the NOC-Nantahala Outdoor Center at Wesser)
We will be rafting at Appalachian Rivers just past Wayah Rd. on the left

parental guardian form for those under 18.
